Our famous Kamikaze Cotton and Leather Guitar Strap!
In the 1980's Japanese culture was very popular and it was fashionable at the time to wear artistic Japanese inspired clothing. Shirts and other clothing were sold with Japanese sayings on them in the traditional Japanese characters.
During the 1980's the Earth III company issued these Kamikaze guitar straps. They were geared toward the Hard Rock and Heavy Metal guitar playing crowd because of the tough and brave Japanese Kamikaze pilots of WW2. Now they are back!
Kamikaze [Japanese, divine wind (from the legendary name of a typhoon that in 1281 saved Japan by destroying the Mongol navy) : kami, divine + kaze, wind.]
This strap is made with a cotton/poly blend. It is incredibly durable and also features genuine leather end tabs that are doubled and machine stitched to provide extra strength. The strap includes metal loops that provide added strength but also makes adjusting the strap easier while being worn.
The straps are made in the same manner as our original cotton straps with improvements. One improvement was making our leather end tabs a bit softer than our original straps as the old ones were incredibly hard to install on some guitars. The next improvement is that we decided to make the straps a bit longer. Our old cotton straps came in at about 54 inches, the new length is 57 inches.
